I have 14 years of teaching experience in private and public schools across
London and Sydney working as an ESL teacher, K-6 primary teacher, Reading
Recovery Teacher, MULTILIT reading tutor, Gifted and Talented teacher and
Literacy and Numeracy support teacher. I have also worked as an ESL, Selective
High School, English and Mathematics tutor privately, as well as for Pre-Uni New
College and James An College.

Initially, I use a variety of assessments to ascertain a student's academic
achievement level and learning needs. I use this data to formulate a structured,
individual learning plan/curriculum for the student using proven worksheets and
textbooks. I communicate clearly & honestly with parents about their child's
strengths and weaknesses and also provide them with strategies and tools they
can use to help their child's learning at home.

As a trained Reading Recovery teacher and MULTILIT reading tutor, I can use the
methodology and resources of each of these programs to design a customised,
proven and effective reading program to assist students who struggle with their
reading.

I have the experience and expertise to assist parents in identifying suitable
textbooks, books (novels, stories) and other educational materials to help their
child's learning development.

I feel it is vital to establish an excellent rapport with each child for effective learning
to occur. I also use a lot of positive reinforcement in my teaching and I regularly
point out each child's achievements. I have a warm, kind and supportive
personality and I like to use my sense of humour with my students.

I am available on some weekday afternoons as well as the weekend, including
most school holiday periods.
