My name is Andrew. I'm 25, have been doing Maths research for 2 years and have studied maths at a tertiary level for 6 years. I have vast experience VCE and tertiary maths subjects as well as a keen interest in education. I currently teach at part time at Monash University in Clayton as well private tuition.

I specialise in tutoring students in:
- Years 11 and 12 Further Maths
- Years 11 and 12 Maths Methods
- Years 11 and 12 Specialist Maths
- All levels of tertiary maths.

I also have some experience tutoring early secondary students.

With new students that are struggling at maths, I like to focus on getting them up to the standard level of maths for their age as well as teach them the new material.

For stronger maths students we will improve your problem solving techniques as well as tackling the tougher problems to gain a strong fundamental knowledge of the material. I like teach students to have a solid understanding of the theory being studied rather than just a method to solving the problems.

My tutoring sessions are specific to the student but most consist of a combination of
- a quick summary of material that has been covered
- answering queries about the material
- exam preparation
- assignment discussion and review
- demonstrating sample solutions to problems
- watching students work through problems and providing feedback whilst they are working
- watching students work through problems and providing feedback when they are finished.

I am available most days of the week depending on the time of day. Phone or email for exact availability. Depending on the students location we can organise to run the tutoring session at a public library, my house or the students house.

My sessions are usually between 1 and 2 hours but I find the best length for tutoring sessions is 1.5 hours.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (Hons), with double maths major, 90+% average.
1st Class Honours in Mathematics, 95%.
Completing Masters by research in mathematics.
