Hi. My name is Rachael. I love teaching. I am a fun, interactive/ immersion style teacher, with a great interest in languages. I have recently started a school, Aussie Senseis Language Centre, and through that I offer specialties in English/ ESL/ Primary and Adult Literacy, Maths/ Primary and Adult Numeracy, Primary/ Introductory Japanese, and other language services such as assignment assistance, research, proofreading and editing.

I am considerate, qualified, experienced, and fun. I work around you -- where and when you want to learn, how often each week, what you want and need to study and how. I will diagnose your level and put together learning plans, lessons, and materials. I make worksheets, games, you name it.

I was the first to offer a CITIZENSHIP EXAM PREPARATION CLASS, INCLUDING ESL ENGLISH STUDY. Though the exam may be up in the air, from this I have an even firmer understanding of what is needed by those coming to Australia to live, in particular.

I believe in constantly improving service, with customer service questionnaires for students/ parents, and a commitment to each individual student. I use methods which are fun and interesting, and therefore effective.
You may want to use a particular textbook, workbook, no book... we will combine what you want and what we feel you need.

Experience
I have been tutoring English/ Literacy, Maths/Numeracy, ESL/ IELTS, Biology, Economics, History, Geography and German and Japanese to Primary/ Secondary/ Tertiary students and adults since 1996. In Japan, I taught adults and children, ESL, EFL (Japanese translations), TOEIC, TOEFL, EIKEN, business, travel and conversational English. I have worked for myself, Active English, Shandong High School, and for Nova Corporation. For each of these companies, I have done teacher training, syllabus, materials and administration. I started a new Nova school in Japan. In China, I taught school students 13 to 18 years old, in ESL, specialising in interactive computer assisted learning. I began, managed and taught a Japanese course in China also. I have now taught a great deal of ESL, EFL, and Japanese in the Gold Coast, including a lot of homestay/ exchange, but also a lot of homeschooling. I have designed and taught a new, exciting Immersion Japanese Course in the Gold Coast, involving such things as restaurant and supermarket visits. And also a full homeschooling plan for Japanese children living in Australia, covering Australian and Japanese topics, such as keeping up with knowledge of Japanese history, geography etc, while here.



Qualifications
I have a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Primary), so am also a registered (currently relief) primary teacher, belong to the Queensland College of Teachers and have a blue card. I also have a Masters in TESOL, a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Second Languages (English and Japanese) and I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism. I have certificates of competence in Teacher Training from Japan, Japanese Language Ability (JLPT and JETRO) and other language courses.
