Effective Learning is located only 2 minutes walk from Bondi Junction Train Station on Oxford Street Mall. Our classes run after school and on Sundays. Our speciality is HSC English but we also cover Junior English, Maths(Junior and Senior), Modern History, Ancient History, Economics, and Business Studies.

The central focus at Effective Learning is writing. We feel that generally schools do a good job of teaching content, however due to the class sizes etc, schools do not have enough time or resources to teach students how to teach each student how to write. Our central premise is that writing is a skill far more than a talent. As we often say to students at the office, “how do you learn to surf?” “You get in the ocean and surf, you don’t learn by watching DVD’s.” Writing essays is about the experience, a central part of this experience is acknowledging that you will make mistakes on the way. Mistakes are not a signifier of incompetence rather they are an integral part of the learning progress. Our mission is to resolve these mistakes, creating competency and confidence leading to a great HSC English result.
