My name is Joey, I am currently tutoring Maths, Cantonese and Mandarin.(for children, teenagers and adults) I have worked as an after school Mandarin teacher in Scots College and Mosman Church of England Preparatory School. Before coming to Australia, I taught Chinese Language and Physical Education in a secondary school (Hong Kong) for 7 years. I love teaching and my students.

I believe that calculating is a skill just like driving a car or playing guitar, it requires a lot of practice, especially when learning a new formula, so I give homework to my students every lesson to help them to change the short-term memory to long-term.

The curriculum of Chinese Language is divided into 4 categories: reading, writing, listening and speaking which includes Chinese Grammar, Chinese Culture, Festivals and Calligraphy, Classical and Modern Prose and Poetry etc.

As a teacher, I strongly believe every student has their own potential. Teachers always talk about the term "Learning and Teaching", in my interpretation, "learning" takes priority of "teaching", it means teachers should consider our students first, so I will try different teaching methods and use different materials and resources to fit my students' learning styles.
