Ms Julija Knezevic - CBD, Melbourne
Hi,
My name is Julija, I have been living in Melbourne since July 2010 and before that for 12 years in Japan. I am currently doing PhD in Japanese studies and have just completed Masters in Interpreting. I am available on most weekdays and weekends from early mornings to late at night and can travel to Zone 2.
My work experience is mainly in the IT and medical industry and I have tutored English speakers in Tokyo for 10 years and now Victorians for 18 months. My students include professionals aiming to do business with Japan, high-school students studying for exams and university students majoring in Japanese language. After the initial meeting, I tailor my lesson to the specific study needs ranging from keigo-honorifics to casual daily conversation. I always write down what I have said (in kanji) so that students can review what we have learned in their spare time. The lesson usually goes for an hour with a quick warm up, review of vocabulary, grammar (verbs and tenses in particular), then phrases, collocations and 'natural' speech in different contextual situations. We wind up with a quick review and homework.
My motto is to learn while having fun and I ensure that my method of tutoring does exactly that.
Look forward from hearing from you!
please drop me an e-mail on: julijak@hotmail.com
Regards,
Julija Knezevic

I have also tutored at volunteer groups in shinagawa-ward and oota-ward in tokyo. i can use english to explain the context, the gramatical difference between the two languages, but i prefer to use a direct method and get a student to "pick up" the meaning and what i am trying to convey.I have now tutored Japanese, Serbian and Bosnian for almost 2 years to VCE students and professionals in Mlebourne.
