Looking for a friendly and patient tutor for primary Maths and English? Or maybe you're seeking a secondary English, Drama or Legal Studies Tutor? Then look no further.
I have been working as a freelance tutor for the last two years, assisting a variety of highschool students in English and Legal Studies subjects. During this time I have also worked as a qualified casual tutor within the Tutor2You company, providing learning support to primary aged children in Maths and English.
To give a quick summary of myself: I am a third year Law/Justice student at QUT, and a registered BlueCard holder. In between my university studies I also enjoy volunteering as a Law Mentor within the QUT Law School, offering guidance to first year students. I am a very friendly and charismatic person, very quick to build rapport with all my new students.
My main goal in tutoring is to increase their understanding of the subject, and build their confidence in their learning abilities. Lessons are structured around the requests of the students and their parents. I am able to provide primary age worksheets in Maths and English to assist with understanding. I am available to tutor on weekends and during the school week after school hours, however my availability may be subject to minor changes due to my university commitments.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks, Lucy Hillman :)
In 2014 I volunteered with the Smith Family in their Buddy Reading Program. This
program operated 3 times a week, involving phone tutorial sessions with the student. Within these sessions I would listen and read along, correcting any mistakes and offering encouragement. I thoroughly enjoyed
participating in this program, and watching the improvement in my students.
Over the past two years I have offered freelance tutoring services through this site primarily in English and Legal Studies subjects. From these students I have received positive feedback, and have always been asked back for multiple sessions with the student. Currently I am also employed as a qualified casual tutor within the Tutor2You business. With this company I assist primary aged children develop their mathematical and literacy abilities through weekly tutoring sessions over the course of an entire school term. I really enjoyed working with all my students, and look forward to tutoring many more!
I currently hold an Australian BlueCard to work with children.
