Ms Madeleine Hunter - Ringwood East, Melbourne
I'm offering tutoring in English and English Literature all the way through to VCE, along with Maths up until year 10. I have just completed my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne with a double major in Literature and Linguistics, and Honours in Literature. I am currently working towards my Masters in Literature, specialising in Children's Literature.
I love teaching because I love learning. I like to help and be of use to others and I think the key to successful teaching is to try and find some aspect of the subject material that appeals to the student that they can feel motivated about. A certain commitment is needed from the student themselves for the best results, as practice is the key to success in any field, but I try to keep the atmosphere relaxed and the subject matter interesting.
My availability is currently wide open all days except and Saturdays, though there are still spots available. I prefer to teach from my home in Ringwood East if possible, as it allows me to book more students in a day and therefore help more kids. I can travel to surrounding suburbs if need be, and I have worked out of the Ringwood, Blackburn and Box Hill Libraries, as well as the State Library for students closer to the city.
I like to begin sessions by looking at a sample of the student's work to gage their level of skill. If you call to book a session and for some reason I can't pick up, please leave a message and I will get back to you.
Experience I've been turoring for 3 years now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have helped students with their class work at the primary and secondary level, as well as helping students with preparation for scholarship and entry exams.
