I love my mother tongue and would like to teach you as German Beginner, Traveller, High School Student or German Advanced contemporary German language. Nothing is more important than to understand how native speakers use their language in an idiomatically correct context when you want to express yourself appropriately. I am able to give you this knowledge due to the fact that German is my mother tongue. You can choose between the following course options:


COURSE FOR BEGINNERS AND TRAVELLERS

I use the textbook "Colloquial German" which is an useful language resource for beginners and travellers to achieve an intermediate level of the language that is sufficient to master the average verbal or written situation in the German speaking countries. The textbook includes 2 Audio CDs which is helpful for your home studies. Additionally I use various private material that enriches the lessons with specific grammatical and cultural-linguistic topics. I am open to use any other resource that you require to base my lessons on.

Duration: 6 months or duration of your choice.


TUTORING FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

I prepare my lessons according to the particular needs of my HSC students and undergo a detailed analysis of their deficites beforehand. This analysis will be helpful for the student's parents to evaluate the progress of their children during tuition. Generally I follow the student's textbook he is working with at school or use books from former school years if the current deficites are based on those lessons. Additionally I use various private resources to enrich the lessons. I undertake regular progress reviews with the parents to change the course of tutoring if special learning problems arise at school. When we move closer to the HSC exams we practice the various assessments offered for self-study on the NSW board of study website.

Duration: parallel to the HSC years until HSC exam according to request by parents.


COURSE FOR GERMAN ADVANCED

I offer tuition for single students and small groups for different purposes. Whether you have to do business in Germany, would like to refresh your school German knowledge, need conversation skills or need German for work and university I am open to offer you a tailered programm of advanced language according to your requirements.
Please allow me a detailed assessment lesson of your previous skills and ten days time to work out your individual study schedule.

COURSE GERMAN CONVERSATION

If you just want to improve your conversational skills because you are planning a trip to Germany in the near future I am happy to upskill your German that you have not used for a while.
Please allow me a detailed assessment lesson of your conversational skills that I can tailor a study schedule for your needs.
I will be using a variety of free resources or teach you in a particular field of interest that you have determined as being most important to you.

DISTANT LEARNING VIA EMAIL.
If you have only little time or a small budget I offer Online learning via email lessons and work sheets with an assessment lesson on the phone every 7 days. There is no need to travel anywhere or to meet me at agreed times so as offline learning would require. You can study in your time whereever and whenever you decide.
In the beginning there will be an assessment lesson where we meet personally and talk about your requirements and your level of the language aimed at.

Please ask for this new alternative way of learning! The costs are as far below as AUD20 per lesson.

I am available according to an individual schedule as agreed before. I do not have any long term contracts that bind you unnecassarily for a longer period of time but require cancellation 48 hours before the booked lesson except sickness or disaster.


Experience
I was born in Germany and spent 38 years of my life in Germany before I came to Sydney. Now I live here and would be happy to give you some of my native speaker's knowledge. I am married to an Australian lady and have two sons. I have been tutoring for 6 years and let me tell you, it's big fun! Feel free to contact me!

Qualifications
Unfortunately I don't hold academic degrees that would be recognized in Australia. I used to work in a very professional environment in Germany. I was involved in the training of apprentices and employees in a senior position and gained training experience in occupational subjects over 10 years. In addition to this I grew up in a teacher's family as teaching comes very natural to me.
