Melbourne Tutor in Chemistry
(1 student review)
Chemistry is my passion in life. I have a first class honours degree in medicinal chemistry from Monash University, and am currently undertaking a doctorate in the same field. Don't pay for overpriced, inexperienced tutors out for a quick buck. I have a functional knowledge of chemistry through my studies, and 8 years of tutoring advanced secondary and tertiary level chemistry. Don't be complacent because there is one VCE exam, it makes it all the more harder.
My sessions take a collaborative and interactive approach, and I believe students get more out of this then being spoken at or copying notes out of a text. I write questions and test papers myself to address particular needs of students. Practice with a variety of questions exposes the true patterns in chemistry, and really solidifies basic concepts which are so often overlooked in times of stress.
Available during the week from 4-8 PM. I teach mostly at the Northcote Library, State Library which is accessible via public transport. Other arrangements can be made
Available for weekend sessions from 12PM
I can competently teach tertiary level chemistry, my specialist area is organic chemistry, as well as associated spectroscopic techniques (ID, 2D NMR, IR, MS).
Group lessons available, maximum of three students, $25 an hour per student.
- Chemistry - Secondary, Tertiary
7 years tutoring tertiary and secondary level chemistry with an average increase in
mark of two grades. For instance, a C+ in year 11, I've assisted to achieve a B+ or
better on SACS and exams in year 12.
Have some experience in preparing students for the chemistry portion of the GAMSAT.
If you are looking for GAMSAT help in this field. Chemistry cannot be picked up in a
couple of months, without intensive and thorough training.
