Looking for that extra edge preparing for assessments? Need help understanding and consolidating concepts and content? I can help.
I'm incredibly passionate about the subject English Language as I believed through my study of it I have gained valuable perspective and insight into language use. Since I previously struggled with some aspects of Maths Methods, I am well equipped to help students in their understanding of the subject and provide practical tips for tackling exam style questions. Furthermore, I am passionate about Chemistry and am keen to share this passion through helping others to understand it. As a highly motivated person, I intend to encourage interest in both subjects which will encourage my students to be invested and enjoy both subjects whilst studying them.
As I have recently completed both Maths Methods and English Language in 2016 during the new study design whilst achieving raw scores of 42 and 43 respectively, I have many relevant resources such as exams and texts to be utilised in lessons. Lessons can both be planned and structured but from personal experience, I find that more flexible lesson structure allows more growth and inquisitiveness from the student. After completing Chemistry, also in the new study design during 2017, I am best placed to assist students in navigating the changes to the study design and content.
I am available all day on Saturday and Sunday afternoons to tutor VCE English Language, VCE Maths Methods and VCE Chemistry. I'm willing to meet up at Box Hill Library, Doncaster Library or Balwyn Library but am open to discussion with students about locations in areas surrounding these places.
I previously was a mentor in my school's Peer Mentoring Program and mentored VCE English Language 3/4. I have also have had a year's tutoring experience tutoring VCE English Language 1/2, VCE Mathematical Methods 1/2 and VCE Chemistry 1/2. I have helped my students in understanding the content, improving their work and preparing them for assessments. I want to be a tutor to share my passion of learning with my students and encourage them to perceive the world around them differently by being able to apply this knowledge to their everyday lives.
I received a raw study score of 43 in English Language and 42 in Maths Methods in 2016 as well as a 45 in Chemistry in 2017 and thus have a great understanding of the current study design. I'm a member of my school's Selected Entry Accelerated Learning Program and have completed eight unit 3/4 subjects and received an ATAR of 99.35
