Hello my name is Sarah. In 2006 I achevied an enter score in the 90's. I am very
friendly, open and have often been told by people I should become a teacher
because of my good commmunication skills. I will be a very dedicated tutor. I will
make sure that you are improving in your work.

My lessons will consist of learning to a style that suits you. Personally, I feel going
through tests, learning in a fun way and talking through content to be useful but if
you have another leaning style I will adjust myself to suit your needs. I will even
make worksheets for you, I am extremely flexible.

I am available most school nights and afternoons including weekends, even
mornings if need be. I love teaching because I love seeing people excel and
improve, I am very prepared to put my energy into that.

Please take a chance on me as your tutor because I know in my heart I am able to
encourage people to excel, leaning is more than just content, it's an attitude.

My philosophy is to always encourage through positivity and gently nuture the
student to improve in a relaxed environment, always listen to the student and help
them learn in a way that suits them - I don't believe in berating the student and
being negative.

I have had a lot of sucess with my past students because I believe as I am young
and closer to their age we are able to have sessions in a relaxed and friendly
environment and talk on a more common level.

I also have a bag of resouces and different books for the student to ensure they
can have the best chance possible to practice their work.

Overall, after over 5 years of tutoring, never had I had a student not improve.

I've even made speech's at 2 of my past students 21st Birthdays!

Experience
Tutored a year 12 in Literature whose highest VCE score was the subject.

Tutored year 12 further maths student whose highest VCE score was the subject
last year.

Year 11 English student who is getting excellent results.

Tutored french to two year 8 students last year who excelled.

Tutored a year 8 boy who was failing maths and after a few months was getting
scores in the 80s and 90s last year.

Tutored year 8 maths girl who has been getting higher results.

Tutored year 12 english girl who is going very well.

Tutored year 12 English student who recieved very high sac results.

Tutored 8 year old boy in reading and spelling, big improvements seen.

I do occasional tutoring for a number of students in maths before their tests and all
have recieved results afterwards that are high and they have been pleased with.
One girl even got 110% (however that exists!) after a tutoring session.

One of tutoring can be extremely effective and helpful because a lot of students can lose
momentum with weekly tutoring and it becomes a chore not something they enjoy and get a
lot out of.

Lots of experience and lots of higher results.
I don't stuff around with students, I make sure
they are learning what they are supposed to be doing in class or for homework.

Qualifications
Journalism degree from La Trobe Univeristy and two years experience working as a
newspaper journalist. Also do PR and copywriting on the side. I currently work in television
as journalist.

I have a lot of teaching experience in other fields that are challenging. I can also
help people who are undertaking or interested in taking up life saving.

I also worked for educational school programs with Life Saving Victoria so I am very
used to working with young people of all ages and backgrounds as I have worked
with a plethora of different schools and all types of children from all around the
state.

I volunteer to instruct Life Saving during the summer as well on the Surf Coast.
Did a course in Leadership with Life Saving in 2007.

I used to be a swimming teacher so all up lots of experience instructing young
people.

And from all this experience, I definitely have my working with children check.
