Mr Shaun Rammers - Hills District, Sydney

Hi! My name is Shaun Rammers and I play Saxophone and clarinet. I perform regularly on both these instruments in groups ranging from jazz groups to orchestras and even to experimental duos! I have just completed my HSC at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney and am currently getting lessons with Col Loughnan, a highly regarded Jazz saxophonist. In the past I have also received tuition from James Nightingale, Elizabeth Lim and Jamie Gibson.

I enjoy teaching, I get a large amount of satisfaction from seeing my students progress and seeing them enjoy their instrument and making music. I make sure I structure my lessons to be fun and productive so that my students get the most they can out of playing their instrument and can make music which is not only fun to perform but is technically accurate. I can also take students through exams such as AMEB or Trinity.

I can teach any style of music from jazz, classical, rock and improvisation (I have had training in all these areas.) I can also teach Music theory and Musicianship and again take students through exams if wanted. I can also teach composition.

I structure my my lessons to involve all the important aspect of playing always involving technical work such as scales, creating a nice sound and all other technical aspects. Lessons also involve sight reading training, learning of tunes expanding students repiture and of course any other aspect of playing the student would like such as improvising and going through AMEB exams.

A weeks work experience at Oxford Falls Grammer School tutoring Saxophone and Clarinet students there and taking band rehearsals.
Tutored at the Ashbury's Public School band camp for many years.
Have been tutoring students privatly at my home for some time giving enjoyable and productive lessons.
