Hi, my name's Ben. I'm a postgraduate student at the ANU undertaking a Master's of Diplomacy, and at present am tutoring a wide range of subjects. My passion is teaching English as a second language, but I have experience teaching English and other subjects to students from many backgrounds and levels.
I've been tutoring for almost six years now and have just come back from a year in China, during which I studied Mandarin and taught English to a wide variety of students. In my six years of teaching I've learned that the most important quality for a teacher is adaptability, so my teaching style is very much centered around the student's needs. I've also learned that the most important quality for a student is motivation, so I also do my best to make my lessons engaging and fun - something to look forward to, not something to be dreaded.
My tutoring locations are Chapman and surrounding suburbs, Woden library, Civic library, and the ANU campus, though if you have a suitable location near these areas I will of course take it into consideration.
Feel free to send me an e-mail any time, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible and arrange a meeting for us. The first meeting is always free!
