I've taught in schools, homes and the TV Industry helping our young Aussie actors to manage their schoolwork and scripts. I believe memory is a big key to success & research shows when learning feels more magical, it's naturally more memorable (and more master-able)! I welcome all levels of learners & provide strong reading and learning pathways that complement the learning efforts already being made at school while physically preparing students' brains for success with the 4Rs -- reading, writing, arithmetic and recall. It's this 4th 'R' of REMEMBERING that's frequently underdeveloped at school & yet it's so important.
Some of the areas covered: phonological awareness, phoneme discrimination, reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, maths and the 4 key cognitive skills vital to learning success - memory, attention, processing and sequencing. In between our student/teacher calls &/or parent/teacher calls, all of my students are set-up with their own daily, neuroscientific learning account โ€“ itโ€™s called Fast ForWord.
Fast ForWord is a clinical-strength, teacher-monitored reading, language and cognitive-skill program developed by brain experts & delivered in a fun, animated format so kids feel right at home!
Itโ€™s easy to complete wherever you have Wi-Fi - in as little as 30 minutes a day, 5 days per week (or at least 3 days on your busiest weeks), your child will adapt and develop a routine that will not only help with language and reading, it will also help to get the brain learning FASTER. So school becomes easier and life becomes happier.
I work with all learners (ages 4+) including those looking for accelerated learning; home-based language therapy; or home-based interventions for: reading difficulties, auditory processing disorder, dyslexia, speech or language impairment, autism spectrum disorders, ADD, ADHD, a specific learning disability, home-schooling, and/or English Language Learners.

I'm a Primary Teacher.

I've been teaching and tutoring Primary Level Literacy and Numeracy for over 10 years, working in schools, private homes and with young actors in the television industry.

I'm also a fully-trained, Accredited Provider of Fast ForWord throughout Australia. Over the past several years, I've worked with hundreds of students (of all ages), customising and supporting their brainbased learning journeys.

๐Ÿš€ Foundational Auditory Processing
Auditory processing disorder symptoms include difficulty following directions, inattentiveness, and learning or reading difficulties. There are several kinds of auditory processing issues. The symptoms can range from mild to severe. Children with APD can have weaknesses in one, some or all of these areas:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Auditory discrimination: The ability to notice, compare and distinguish between distinct and separate sounds. The words sixty and sixteen may sound alike, for instance.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Auditory figure-ground discrimination: The ability to pick out necessary and relevant sounds from extraneous background noises. Are you able to hear the person chatting next to you among a noisy group or if the kettle is boiling?

๐Ÿ‘‰ Auditory memory: The ability to recall what you've heard, either immediately or when you need it later.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Auditory sequencing: The ability to understand and recall the order of sounds and words. A child might say or write, "hostipal" instead of "hospital", or hear the number 356 but write 365.

Rather than $55 per hour, my price more accurately reflects a base rate of $55 per week as your child will have daily learning opportunities (the functionality of this site only allows an hourly rate to be displayed).

Pricing from $220 per month for 20 days of personalised, online practice (10 hrs) plus professional teacher support.

Plenty of options to suit different learner needs and/or family dynamics.
