Students can expect caring, professional tutoring from an encouraging expert teacher. Their personality and individual needs will draw suitable responses. I have the ability to give explanations which make abstract or complex concepts understandable. I motivate students, particularly the very young, with varied activities using sound, sight and movement, so that they can learn in their preferred learning style and have that reinforced through the other modes.

Parents can expect short written notes on each session. When they wish to discuss their child's needs and progress they will find an understanding and knowledgeable teacher, who is also a parent.

My ongoing students have made great progress in skills and huge gains in confidence.

Since 2011 my main occupation has been tutoring both primary and
secondary students. I have developed children's skills in both literacy and
numeracy from grade 1 to Year 10. I have supported students in secondary maths at all
levels including VCE, and in physics. In addition I have given tuition in French for
beginners and secondary students to year 12. i have also supported students to
pass level in VCE English and VCAL Literacy. (Please note that I am not a specialist in senior English, so I am not able to hone students skills to the level needed for high VCE scores.)
In the past I have been a secondary tutor privately and for coaching
colleges. Tutor-style teaching was also part of my work for about ten years at my
previous school. I have had a total of approximately 15 years experience teaching
in schools, special settings and a post-compulsory training organisation.

"Colette has been well and truly fantastic. My son josh has mild Asperger, and has been seeing Colette for a year and a half. Helping with his reading, writing, blending sounds, homework, and everything inbetween. She has catered to all his needs. Has turned learning into fun games to help with those non concentrating days. Josh has come so far in his learning and having that extra help from Colette has been the result. The only reason why we have finished having tutoring is due to moving interstate. Thank you so much Colette xx"
