Economics is quite a rare subject in high-school as well as general academia. Subsequently, students face many struggles with learning economics which impedes their ability to succeed in it. Some of these struggles include being taught by teachers not qualified in economics, not being able to find adequate resources that relate to your coursework, and falling into the trap of memorising rather than learning and understanding.
Typically, ‘economics’ teachers rely heavily on textbooks where students are forced to memorise and regurgitate large volumes of text, with much of it being unnecessary. Not only is this an ineffective way of learning, it is time consuming and stressful.
Having studied economics both in a high-school and tertiary levels, I have been able to refine my economics knowledge in such a way that emphasises quality over quantity. This is reflected in my ability to teach, where I offer a more intuitive way of learning economics that focuses on visuals and examples that are engaging, yet easy to understand. My goal in teaching is to build the necessary foundation of knowledge which allows my students to shape their own understanding of economics and make their own inferences without having to rely on a teacher or textbook.
COVID has brought about many inconveniences to us all, particularly to students. Lockdowns, restrictions, and online learning have made it increasingly difficult for students to focus on their studies and access quality education. In order to address said inconveniences, I have invested in top-tier equipment to ensure that my students receive the highest quality, online tutoring that is currently available.
A typical class with me involves a zoom conference, where I stream what is on my iPad screen as I draw using an Apple pencil. You will be able to see what is happening in real-time, much like what you're accustomed to in a classroom, but from the comfort of your own home. Each student will have their own profile they can visit where students can post questions/answers, view resources, access documents, and book/pay for lessons all in one place that is easily accessible.
My availabilities are flexible. Pricing is negotiable and dependent on what services are required.
Feel free to get in touch if you're interested or have any questions.
Best,
Dan
