Hey there!

My name is Dan. I'm offering tutoring services for VCE Economics Units 1-4, university-level economics, as well as any other economics related coursework.

My credentials:

- Completion of Units 1-4 Economics with a study-score of 47 (2017)
- 4th-year Economics major at The University of Melbourne
- Over three years of tutoring experience (economics & business)

Economics is quite a rare subject in high-school as well as general academia. Subsequently, students face many struggles with learning economics which impedes their ability to succeed in it. Some of these struggles include being taught by teachers not qualified in economics, not being able to find adequate resources that relate to your coursework, and falling into the trap of memorising rather than learning and understanding.

Typically, ‘economics’ teachers rely heavily on textbooks where students are forced to memorise and regurgitate large volumes of text, with much of it being unnecessary. Not only is this an ineffective way of learning, it’s time-consuming and stressful.

Having studied economics both in a high-school and tertiary levels, I’ve been able to refine my economics knowledge in such a way that emphasises quality over quantity. This is reflected in my ability to teach, where I offer a more intuitive way of learning economics that focuses on visuals and examples that are engaging, yet easy to understand. My goal in teaching is to build the necessary foundation of knowledge that allows my students to shape their own understandings of economics and make their own inferences without having to rely on a teacher or textbook.

2020 has brought about many inconveniences to us all, particularly to students. Lockdowns and restrictions have made it increasingly difficult for students to focus on their studies and access quality education. In order to circumvent the many inconveniences brought about by this year, I've invested in top-tier equipment to ensure that my students receive the highest quality, online tutoring that is currently available.

A typical class with me involves a zoom conference, where I stream what is on my iPad screen as I draw using an Apple pencil. You will be able to see what is happening in real-time, much like what you're accustomed to in a classroom, but from the comfort of your own home.

My availabilities are flexible. Pricing is negotiable and dependent on what services are required.

Feel free to get in touch if you're interested or have any questions.

Best,

Dan

"Dan helped me out in 2020 for VCE Economics Units 3&4. I can recommend him to any student looking for an economics tutor. I think what made him a special tutor to me was that he was patient and took time to make sure that I fully understood all of the topics before moving forward. He also provided me with some excellent SAC/Exam tips, like how to time manage, how to structure answers and, how to approach the assessments from a strategic standpoint. Thanks, Dan :D"
