My aim is to make maths fun, rewarding and enjoyable
Melbourne tutor in Algebra, Calculus, Engineering, Further Maths, Geometry, Maths, Maths Methods, Physics, Statistics, Teacher Training
As an experienced educator, I draw on a range of skills and experiences to cater for the individual learner and how the learner not only can achieve successful learning but also establish lasting learning habits and an intrinsic motivation for learning.
In earlier years I traveled overseas and taught in a variety of London schools; a challenging experience which encouraged me to place student engagement at the forefront of successful education.
I have taken a sabbatical from my ongoing teaching position in Melbourne and am residing with my family in Japan. This enables me to offer online tutoring.
The learning needs of the student are the starting point for lesson structure. Specific content can be brought to each session or alternatively, targeted material can be provided.
I strive to instill confidence by enabling students to make connections and draw logical conclusions, providing cues and directions where necessary.
I'm available most evenings by mutual arrangement and can be contacted via email.
I have been a teacher for over 20 years, of Mathematics and Science at all levels from 7 to 12 in schools in metropolitan and country Victoria.
My VCE experience includes General Further Maths, Maths Methods and Specialist Maths as well as Year 11 and 12 Physics and Year 11 Chemistry.
I qualified as a teacher at the University of Melbourne, obtaining a Bachelor of Science
and a Diploma of Education.
