Aim: To improve your child’s ability to learn independently so they do not need a tutor. Our priority is competence, our secondary objective is A’s on the report card.
I have tutored all year levels in the QLD state curriculum as well as years 10 to 12 in the international baccalaureate during the past 5 years. I graduated with an equivalent to an OP1 in the IB.
I am able to help your child with English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics as I have excelled in these subjects in school and at university. I have a love of history and religious studies as I believe they build a well-rounded student.
I greatly enjoy tutoring English and Mathematics, and have been successful in sciences and religious studies subjects. There is a mandatory expectation of professionalism when tutoring students, I strive to be an example of such an expectation for students to emulate.

To build independent learners for their future endeavours. We learn best when we are engaged. Sometimes this means taking a step away from class curriculum and towards building a strategy, method or specific skill.
I am passionate about learning because the people who will lead our country in the future are children today. If we can build competent young people, we are preparing our nation for future greatness. I have helped children as young as well as adults going back to university. What I enjoy most are the eureka moments for my students.
There is a disservice to both students and teachers with the approach to learning in this country.
Each child is different, each school is different and each school curriculum is different. I provide a basic competency test in major reading, writing, and problem-solving abilities. From here, I put together an individual plan for the student over a 10 week period. This involves their school assessment, some independent activities and a 1-2 hour session each week.
If I cannot help, I will let you know after the initial consultation, and provide reasons for this based on the basic competency test. I have a network of tutors and professionals I can recommend to assist where I cannot. This also means putting you in contact with a tutor who is better suited to your children.
If I can help, I get in contact with the teachers of your children and make them aware of the tutoring. I provide the teachers access to my strategy and often get valuable feedback in regards to helping your children better at home.
Trust is the most important virtue in learning. I require 100% trust between the students and their parents. Building a lifelong learner is difficult, so building a rapport with the students is mandatory.
Communication is the second most important virtue in learning. That is why I have coined the expression the “triangle of trust”. If the 3-way communication is interrupted, it has a direct influence over the learning objectives. We need to remain consistent and honest with each other through all means of communication. This is why I invite students and parents to contact me 24/7.
“Navigating independent learners”
I have tutored all year levels in the QLD state curriculum as well as years 10 to 12 in the international baccalaureate over the past 6 years. I graduated with an equivalent to an OP1 in the IB.
I am able to help your child with English, mathematics, and science as I have excelled in these subjects in school and at university. I have a love of history and religious studies as I believe they build a well-rounded student.
I provide my own resources, writing implements and use technology in the lessons. These lessons are goal based and designed to be engaging, so students are often on their feet for part of the lesson. We focus on getting school work started, with a plan in place for early submission. I do not write assessment pieces for students, this detracts from the teacher-student feedback loop. I do mark, edit and send students as much feedback as necessary to guide them in providing the best submission they can to the teacher. Assignment feedback is provided in my own time outside of lessons.
I am 23 years old, Brisbane born and bred. I study mathematics and finance at QUT. I write articles about financial well-being and fiscal responsibility for young Australians. I attended the Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Technology. I finished high-school English at the end of year 11. I have tutored since leaving school in 2013.
