My name is Ernest and I offer psychology tutoring and editing services. I have thus far helped 250+ students from a number of universities. Regarding qualifications, I first completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and graduated with High Distinction. I then completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology Advanced (4th year) and also obtained a High Distinction for my thesis. In addition, I have previously studied linguistics and became a certified Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language in 2011. I take pride in being updated with the latest APA conventions (currently, the APA 7th edition).

Currently, I am offering the following two services. These may be hired individually or in combination:

𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄
This service will give you feedback on content relevance, quality of written expression, demonstration of higher-order skills (e.g., critical thinking and cohesiveness of ideas), and the general structure of your paper. Sentences that are difficult to follow or that involve grammar issues will be flagged, with advice as to how to improve them. Importantly, you will get customised recommendations based on your writing style. In addition, APA formatting and APA conventions issues will also be addressed, including double-spacing, indentation, headings, reporting of statistics, and in-text citations, among others.

The fees for this service are $90 p/hour. Given the thoroughness of my feedback, as a general rule, I can review 900-1200 words per hour. This depends on the complexity of the assignment and how much feedback is required (i.e., issues to address). You can rest assured that I will let you know the cost beforehand so you can decide, without obligation, whether you would like to go ahead with the review.

Delivered via Zoom ǀ Duration: 1-hour ǀ Session fee: $140.

A tutoring session may be used for different purposes. For example, you may have an assignment to complete and you are unsure as to where to start. In this case, my job is to help you gain a thorough understanding of the assessment task and criteria, and then assist you in brainstorming ideas for the write-up of your paper (whether an essay, a lab report or a section of your thesis).

Alternatively, we may use this session to review previous submissions and explore areas that may have room for improvement, including critical thinking and higher-order skills, presentation of findings, and cohesiveness of arguments. I typically make annotations and edits on the original document, which I will then send back to you at the end of the session.
