I tutor at home in a one on one arrangement to give individually tailored assistance to my students between the hours of 4pm and 6pm Monday to Thursday, as I still am an active and passionate teacher on a part time basis. I am very approachable and encouraging and patient. My students have shown improvement in all areas of their Secondary English studies, across all levels of academic ability.
I focus on building confidence through improving skills and provide scaffolding assistance to preparation of all modes of tasks including, essays, creative, analytical responses and oral presentations.
I help students to understand elements of texts and unpack ideas and critical elements of English texts.
I get results through encouraging a love of English and building of essential skills.

Experience

Tutoring since 2011. Some of that time in NSW so good understanding of external examination process for the new Australian Curriculum in Qld. I have tutored students from year 5/6 who are attempting scholarship exams through to Year 12 extension English and literature. I have, as a teacher, taught years 7-12 English and History and extension English in NSW and QLD for almost 17 years.
I was a Board of Studies Marker for the NSW HSC English paper 1, a marker of Naplan and a practicum supervisor for Masters of Teaching Students at UWS in 2014-15.
