Canberra tutor in Creative Writing, English
Literature, Essay Writing, French, History, Reading
Hi, my name is Odessa and I am a third year student at the Australian National University. I am double majoring in English and Philosophy, and minoring in Advanced French. I have maintained straight HDs throughout my degree, and am a recipient of the Tuckwell Scholarship.
I completed the NSW HSC in 2016 at Saint George Girls, an academically selective high school. I was dux of my school, placing first in English Extension 1, English Extension 2, French Continuers, Latin Continuers, Latin Extension, and Modern History. I received a band 6 in all my subjects and graduated with an ATAR of 99.
I believe that organisation, practice, and open discussion are of the most benefit to learners. I will work with students to ensure that they develop a deeper understanding of their subjects and, in the process, learn skills that are transferrable from one assignment to the next. I am able to mark essays, tasks and assignments, and give students detailed and constructive feedback on their work.
I have spent the past four years tutoring both high school and primary school students in a range of subjects. However, the main subjects I teach are English and history. I have also worked as an assistant content editor for The Bell Magazine and have had short stories published in magazines and anthologies.
I have fairly flexible hours, and am available most afternoons during the week. I’m happy to do home visits, or go to a library or school that suits the student. If interested, please contact me at 0466883272, or email me at email@example.com.
