Melbourne Tutor Experienced in Special Needs Education
Melbourne tutor in EAL, English, English Literature, ESL, Essay Writing, GAMSAT, General Science, Human Biology, Legal Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Reading, Special Needs, Statistics, Study Skills
My main areas of expertise are: Psychology (secondary level, tertiary level, Statistics), English Language (essay writing, reading, literacy skills), Primary and Secondary School Education and Special Needs Support.
In addition to teaching subject material, my tutoring approach aims to foster an interest and joy for learning, and to also develop students’ capacity for effective independent study.
Tutoring approach & session structure:
- First session is offered at half the price (i.e., $20). In the first session I will aim to evaluate and understand the student's learning needs, and also to discuss student's goal which will guide the delivery of subsequent sessions.
- The structure of subsequent sessions will be determined in light of student's learning style and goals. Individual sessions will be adapted week-by-week depending on the student's learning priorities - e.g., exam revision or assistance to meet an assignment deadline.
- sessions can be structured to support students in completing school/university work, or to create and implement tailored learning plans to achieve particular learning goals.
Tutoring sessions run for a minimum of 1 hour. Meeting place can be at a local library (Melbourne northern suburbs), my home (located in Meadow Heights), student's home, or online (via Zoom). Note: sessions held at the student's home or local library will attract a fixed $10 travel fee.

Until then, Happy learning!
I have multiple years of tutoring experience, both as a private tutor and as a special needs support at a private secondary school.
My tutoring style is largely informed by my background in psychological science as well as my experience supporting students with additional needs - e.g., students with learning and language delays, ADHD, ASD.
