I am 27 years old and I sincerely wish to help you achieve your writing goals. I enjoy tutoring young people because they challenge me and I tutor my students to write with dedication, discipline and patience.

(I pay respect to the Wurundjeri-willam people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional owners and custodians who looked after this land for tens of thousands of years. I acknowledge that this land was stolen from them and that sovereignty has never been ceded.)

Location and Availability:
I am available Monday-Friday after school hours (4 pm-11 pm) and Saturday to Sunday (9 am-11 pm). My preferred meeting place is Camberwell or Hawthorn Libraries in Melbourne's Inner East.

Main Areas of Expertise:
My main areas of expertise is writing and editing. I can also help you with the Victorian Year 7 Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) program entrance examinations in Grade 6 and the persuasive and creative writing sections for the Victorian Year 8 selective school entrance examinations for entry into Year 9.

Levels of Tutoring:
Primary, secondary and tertiary. (Please see Subjects on Offer and Experience, Qualifications and WWCC.)

Structure:
The first session will be an introductory session where I will gauge the level of understanding of the student. The following sessions will consist of a half-hour dedicated to the revision of the previous session’s content and the subsequent half hour will be for learning new material.

Experience

I have worked with a diverse range of students including those with special educational needs, English as a Second Language background, refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. I have experience tutoring students for the Year 8 Mac.Robertson Girls' High School/Melbourne High School/Nossal High School entrance examination, general high school mathematics examinations and VCE Mathematical Methods assessment. I have assisted Health Sciences and Engineering students with their academic writing at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Lastly, I have also written and edited letters for legal reasons.

Tertiary Education:
I am an aspiring mental health advocate with a medical background. I am currently studying at Swinburne University but gained my Bachelor of Medical Science degree at Monash University.

Secondary Education:
My ATAR result from The Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School (MGHS) was 97.85. My Undergraduate Medical Aptitude Test (UMAT) percentile was 95 and I received interviews and offers from a number of the UMAT consortium of medical schools in Australia including Monash University, University of New South Wales, University of Adelaide, James Cook University and more. My VCE subjects were: English Language, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology.

I was accepted to MGHS after achieving 4 Superior grades out of the the 6 tests in my Year 8 Victorian selective school examinations. At MGHS, I participated in various extracurricular activities e.g. leadership, social service, yearbook editing, peer mental health support and volunteering activities and I received a number of school and community prizes for my efforts. Finally, I received a number of High Distinctions and Distinction awards in numerous national and university-set standardised tests including the Australian Mathematics Competition, Australian Geography Competition, ICAS Science Competition and the Australian National Chemistry Quiz.

Before MGHS, I previously attended the SEAL program at University High School (UHS) after receiving offers and interviews from a number of SEAL programs including Williamstown High School.

Primary Education:
I attended a number of government schools in Australia and New Zealand.

Rates

A) Base rates:
Primary-secondary students: $50/hour (Prep-Year 10). $55/hour (Year 11-12). Tertiary students: $60/hour.
Discounted group tutoring rates: 2 students is 1.5 times the hourly pay rate. 3 students is 2 times the hourly pay rate.
Discounted packages: The exam preparation package is 4 x sessions = $175
Must begin ⩾2 weeks before an exam.

B) Transport costs: From my resident Camberwell, I charge $0.60/km for round trips >20 km.

Total cost = A + B = base rates + transport costs
