My name is Zakary Jay Nicholls, I'm an academic and online educator specializing in the field of applied and applications mathematics. I hold academic qualifications in commerce, mathematics, and science, and formal certification in education and management. I am based in Newcastle and am one of the most experienced private educators in the region.

In addition to my extensive academic background, I am very experienced in the fields of education, training, and education management, having held junior and senior positions in numerous education companies over the past decade. Since 2016, I have managed and operated my own highly successful private education firm ZJNT Education. Over the past 12 years, I have delivered around 15000 hours of lessons to over 500 students in one-on-one online and in person format, with students from primary all the way up to postgraduate.

I am a highly successful and very sought after academic tutor, from a results perspective my students tend to perform both above their previous averages as well as above class averages. A number of my students have gone on to study in technically advanced and high ATAR programs (mathematics/medical sciences/engineering/data science/quantitative finance/economics/physics/chemistry/computer sciences) at both local and Ivy league universities, some have completed programs in TAFE and apprenticeship programs (civil trades/electrical trades/mechanical trades/explosives and demolitions), as well as military service and workplace employment. I routinely serve as a reference for my students if they choose to apply for competitive entry programs, such as electrical trades, shipbuilding trades, and industry based apprentice programs.

As a key part of my educational strategy, I always try to determine the interests and strengths of the individual students and gear my lessons towards those interests and strengths, I find that this is a very useful way to help students develop greater interest and understanding of the subjects. As a consequence, my students routinely demonstrate fantastic academic and personal improvements, and it brings me great pride to help students to achieve their best. My aim is to ensure that every student comes away from my lessons with an improved understanding of the content, improved academic work ethic, and improved self confidence.
