I have been motivating and encouraging students to develop their skills and joy for music for over 35 years - and I also enjoy teaching math, literacy and science!

I am a qualified Senior math and science teacher registered with Education Queensland.

I achieved the musical classical AMEB qualification of A. Mus. A. (while completing an Electronic/ Electrical Engineering Degree) then began developing my musical skills in the modern, pop, lyrical, blues and jazz genres.

I chose a professional career in music over engineering, but still love teaching math, science and literacy.

I have had my music played on both TV and radio in Melbourne in genres as wide as relaxation music to Jazz-rock fusion.

I also owned/managed a Music School in Melbourne for 13 years with over 250 students and offering a wide range of musical education.

I completed a Graduate Diploma of Education in Queensland (became a qualified school teacher - senior math and science). I now teach both music and math on a regular basis.

Lots of live playing music experience including a touring tribute show where I was commissioned to write 35 original string quartet arrangements which were performed along with principal players from both the Sydney and Brisbane Symphony Orchestras at many theatres on the East Coast of Australia and South Australia including the Sydney State Theatre.

I believe that students need to have fun with their music, be motivated and develop great practice habits to improve their piano or keyboard playing (or any other musical skills). I am keen to develop a wide skill-base in students’ piano playing to allow them flexibility in their later musical pursuits.

I can also help musicians develop their skills to sing and play piano (Can also teach vocals!).

Teaching Overview:
Mathematics: up to year 11 level - can do year 12
Science: up to year 10 Piano: all levels & most styles: classical, modern, pop, blues & jazz (including improvisation, composition & music theory)

Experience

I have taught individual piano lessons for most of 30 years. I play and teach most styles of piano from classical, jazz, blues, modern. I have performed professionally in jazz, fusion, tribute(such as Elvis show, Rod Stewart, Cold Chisel, Divinyls, etc.) and modern bands, and played regular corporate solo piano shows. I also have composed differing styles of music from classical, jazz, fusion, modern and relaxation styles

I have also tutored students in mathematics from primary level to tertiary level since becoming a qualified Electronic / Electrical Engineer.

I have completed my Diploma of Education majoring in Mathematics and Science to year 12 level, and I also have classroom teaching experience as well (which also requires some group and individual tuition).

My availability is variable - on request.

I love helping people achieve their goals - that is why I like to teach!

I have plenty of resources, and I always teach with 'heart'!

Piano lessons $70 per hour
Mathematics & Science $60 per hour

All other lessons $40 per hour
