Mr. Yong has tutored our son in Physics for over two years. We felt the need for a tutor for our son when he was in Year 10, and we can now very confidently say that choosing Mr. Yong from amongst the myriad of online tutors was a very right decision. Mr. Yong not only simplifies the most complex concepts and questions but also very clearly explains the real-life applications of the various aspects of the subject. He made sure to revisit the concepts/ topics that our son was grappling with and planned his lessons effectively, leaving ample time for revision before the final Year 12 exams. Mr. Yong was also very flexible with lesson times and could always be reached over the phone whenever we had any queries. Working with him, we noticed our son’s growing interest in the subject which ultimately reflected in his results. We saw him progress each term and getting to the highest GPA in his final Year 12 exams.
We would like to thank Mr. Yong for his commitment, dedication, motivation, and positive approach and would like to recommend his name to anyone who is looking for a tutor whose focus is to help his students realize and achieve their full potential and even more!! |

Dr Yong has been tutoring my son in Advanced Maths, Chemistry and Physics and is nothing short of fantastic. My son moved from General to Advanced Maths in term 2 of Year 10 and swapped to Physics in the same term after realising he wanted a career in science/medicine. We knew we had a lot of ground to cover and while his school were superb at offering support we knew we needed extra focus.
I researched and was instantly drawn to Dr Yong's background and ability to tutor in multiple subjects. Most of the success comes from a balance of respect and rapport when learning and having to arrange 3 tutors was a bit concerning. I contacted Dr Yong who was extremely responsive and professional in working through the best approach, number of sessions and structure. I also loved Dr Yong's approach these subjects which is based on curiousity, enjoyment, explaining the concepts and applying principles that resonate with my son. Dr Yong clearly has an excellent knowledge of these subjects and can adapt to the student's needs.
My son not only has the utmost respect for Dr Yong but enjoys his sessions. I never have to remind him or chase him up. He's in his room ready to go (and my son is a lively boy at times!!). Dr Yong and I keep in constant contact on son's progress and I feel very comfortable that my son is in the very best hands and mind with his learning.
We are very excited about Years 11 and 12 and it's wonderful to know my son's not feeling left behind coming into these subjects so late and that he has a wonderful support with Dr Yong.
Could not recommend enough!! Brilliant tutor.
BTW we do Zoom sessions which are great and much easier all around. Dr Yong and my son use a shared board to work through problems (forget what it's called) and it's awesome to see the collaboration and explaining. |

I journeyed with Dr. Yong through the horrible reality of Engineering Mathematics with no prior mathematics knowledge.
This journey is not for the faint of heart and we strove through it together.
Yong is a hidden treasure that should have more recommendation than he really gets.
It's a shame he doesn't teach in our universities because the way he explains with interesting world examples that ensures the students understand is really rare in this stone age.
Thank you, Dr. Yong, for everything. |
