I assist students with their current work or whatever area is hindering them and can follow up with "tip" sheets or explanatory / practice worksheets where I feel some more practice / confidence building is needed.

It gives me great pleasure to assist young people on their way to completing their secondary education and seeing those "lightbulb" moments where a concept or method that was previously a stumbling block, opens up and is grasped with clarity and confidence.

Experience

I have tutored upper primary Maths, junior secondary Maths, senior secondary Maths B / Mathematical Methods, Physics and Specialist Maths over the last 13 years. I have taught Maths B / Maths Methods, General Maths and Physics at a P-12 independent Christian school north of Brisbane for nearly twelve years now.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Honours) UQ 1988
Graduate Diploma in Education (Senior Years, Mathematics, with Distinction) QUT 2010
QCT Teacher Registration

Rates

Actual tutoring time $60 per hour + flat fee of $8 per lesson for standard travel distance (up to 30 km round trip from Lawnton).
Flat fee increased to $15 per lesson for extended travel distances (over 30 km up to 60 km round trip from Lawnton).
