As an experienced private tutor & proofreader, I offer a variety of services to students preparing for their VCE, tertiary or private studies. Having taught privately for over six years, and with a multitude of professional experience under my belt, I understand the different ways in which students learn and am able to tailor my lessons to meet the needs of my students.
I have graduated from my Bachelor of Arts at the Univeristy of Melbourne, majoring in Politics and International studies and Italian, whilst completing a concurrent Diploma in Languages specialising in French in 2016 before going on to complete an Honours year examining Italian sociolinguistics, history and politics where I graduated with an H1 (High Distinction Average ). As a result of my studies, I currently teach undergraduate Italian at La Trobe University (February 2018 to present).
In addition to my aforementioned majors, I also have experience learning Spanish, Greek, Chinese & Arabic. These studies have provided with advanced knowledge of languages and linguistics and they way in which they work. Whilst I have a strong grammar basis in both Italian and French, I also excel at teaching skills relating to language studies, in particular those relating to the 'dreaded' oral exam. The combination of these elements allow me to provide Italian and French students with the best chance of receiving the highest marks in their VCE studies.
Whilst I am happy to work 1on1 with students, I also have experience in a classroom environment as a return tutor at VCE Summer School run by the Univeristy of Melbourne Student Union (2014-2018) and at tutorial centres managed by ATAR Notes 2017/2018.
I have also conducted VCE preparation lectures with ATARNotes where I provided VCE students studying a second language with advice on language acquisition, LOTE study skills, and helped them prepare for both the Written and Oral exam. As a result of this position, I also authored the ATAR Notes VCE: Languages Units 1-4 course notes. Additionally, I was also the convenor for the TuteSmart 2018 French program as well as an English 1/2 and 3/4 tutor, and featured in a series of online educational videos for VCE English course.
In addition to tutoring, I usually provide worksheets and notes to students as part of the tutoring process.
My areas of specialisation for tutoring are:
– English (VCE, Primary & Secondary, & ESL)
– LOTE Skills – ie. Oral examination preparation (all languages)
I am also happy to tutor:
– Essay Writing (Secondary and Tertiary)
– Creative Writing
I prefer to tutor at the University of Melbourne or surrounding areas (CBD). Travel in this area can be discussed. I am also available for group tutoring and online help (Skype).
I look forward to hearing from you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries or questions.
