I am an experienced and effective French and Arabic tutor, with a proven track record of achieving excellent results with high school students, university students, professionals, and hobbyists alike.

I’m a corporate lawyer by profession, but my real passion lies in French and Arabic, which I’ve studied and loved for many years. Alongside my legal career, I’ve tutored these languages simply for the joy of it. I enjoy working with learners of all levels, sharing my hard-won skills and knowledge, and seeing students gain confidence and grow.

I am an experienced and effective French and Arabic tutor, with a proven track record of achieving excellent results with high school students, university students, professionals, and hobbyists alike.

I specialise in French for high school (all year levels) and university, and I support professionals learning French or Arabic for work, as well as learners pursuing these languages for travel or family purposes.

My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s needs and goals. I draw on a wealth of materials I have developed and curated over many years, while also working seamlessly with any materials students bring to our sessions. I focus on all core language skills, including speaking, reading, listening, and writing.

I have been tutoring French privately for over 15 years. In Arabic, I designed the curriculum for and have taught at The Parramatta College, a premier adult community college in Sydney, for eight years. I also designed the curriculum for and taught the University of Melbourne’s Second Language Acquisition Program in French for two years.

I have been featured twice as a guest speaker on Australia’s SBS Radio 24 (in Arabic), discussing the challenges and benefits of learning Arabic as a non-native speaker, offering advice to students, and commemorating UN Mother Language Day. See links below:

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours), majors in Arabic and Politics (University of Melbourne)
- Diploma of Languages, French (First Class Honours) (University of Melbourne)
- Advanced Certificate (High Distinction), Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic to Non-native Speakers in Muscat, Oman
- Juris Doctor (University of Sydney Law School)

I have received the Melbourne Global Languages Scholarship (Arabic) from the University of Melbourne as well as the Nicolas Baudin Scholarship (French) from the Embassy of France.

In my day job I work as a corporate lawyer.
