Achieve an ATAR of 95+ with expert tutoring.

Hello and Welcome to ATAR TUTORING CLUB

Does your child aspire to get an ATAR of 95 or above? Are you looking for a tutor with a proven track record who can guarantee your child’s ATAR success? Do you want to support your child with the highest quality expert tutoring, while also making learning a fun and enjoyable experience?
If so, you’re in the right place.

Hi, my name is Juan (John) Kuther, known by my students as ‘The Prof’.
I've been mentoring students for over a decade now to achieve ATARs of 95+. I know what it takes to excel. With the right support, resources, and strategies, you too can achieve an outstanding ATAR to get yourself on the professional career path of your dreams.

I have successfully coached students for over a decade, helping my students achieve an ATAR of 96 on average, with almost half of my students achieving 99. This is above and beyond the highest success rate in the country for tutoring. I have developed strategies over the last 15 years that include the following elements:

• I teach your child the entire syllabus before school starts (ideally over school holidays). • I teach the material in a way that ensures understanding, without relying on memorising. This is critical to your child’s success.
• I source or create concise teaching material that is specifically aligned with your child’s syllabus. I don’t use the schools’ books.
• I use repetition to embed the learning and create understanding.
• I test regularly to ensure understanding and build test resilience.
• Your child will do practice exams and tests on the syllabus early (ideally before school starts). This ensures your child can absorb and embed the syllabus easily when moving through the year.
• We develop a rigorous learning routine based on the scheduling of required assessments.
• I teach your child the psychology of excellence.
• We focus on error elimination and use continuous improvement to reduce errors.
• We focus on strategy and use logic gates to ensure an early finish in exams, including an error checking sequence on early completion of exams.

GIVE YOUR CHILD THE BEST CHANCES OF SUCCESS WITH PRIVATE TUTORING

This is by far the best option if you want your child to achieve the highest ATAR they can. My mission is to help students who are willing to work hard and achieve their best. My students typically reach the top one percent (99 ATAR). Some have even climbed to incredible heights of 99.8 ATARs and above. My teaching methodology is not part of mainstream teaching and is unique. I’ve been developing the strategy since 2006 when I started my maths/stats degree. I studied via correspondence and taught myself how to learn in the most effective manner possible, going on to become an award-winning member of the Golden Key International Honour’s Society with advanced degrees in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. I achieved the top 1% in my university studies. Now I spend my days teaching my students how to achieve outstanding results using those same techniques.

if your child wants to study medicine, tutoring is essential

I have spent many years guiding students into medical degrees. My unique teaching strategy guides you to achieve excellence, but also empowers you to learn. You will be able to utilise these skills for the rest of your life with your future studies and your professional endeavours.

how does it work?

When your child works with me, we use study guides and revisions series that are aligned with their specific syllabus. These resources are highly effective and efficient and are designed to help students practise real exam questions in advance. The resources are focused on achieving the result — scoring well in the exam.

• I meet with your child online two times per week for two-hour tutoring sessions (2 x 2-hour sessions = 4 hours per week)
• There are four subjects in total: Methods, Chemistry, Physics and Specialist (top maths).
• We cover two subjects per week.
• I help them learn the content, then plan ahead for the different assessments so they go into each assessment fully prepared to get a high score. I work with your child every step of the way. They’re fully supported in their learning journey to achieve their best.

Juan kuther – My biography

My students affectionately call me “the Professor.”
I’m an award-winning mathematician and Golden Key International Honours Society Member, having obtained 100% in many university units (85% High Distinctions). I was awarded top student and received two awards of excellence and a GPA of 6.67 (top 0.1%). I achieved these results thanks to several key strategies that I learned and applied to greatly increase my study effectiveness. I now help my students learn these techniques so they too can achieve a minimum ATAR of 95. I worked as an industrial chemist in the oil industry for around 25 years, while also studying at tertiary level for around 15 years. I’ve been a specialist educator for a decade, teaching students’ year 11/12 chemistry, physics, math’s methods, and math’s specialist.

About half of my students have achieved an ATAR of 99+ (top 1%) and gained entrance into extremely competitive degrees.
I have a passion for mathematics, chemistry, and physics and I love sharing this passion with others. But it wasn’t always this way. During high school, I didn’t really know how to study. I worked incredibly hard, but I lacked structure. As a result, my grades were average. Later, during my third year of organic chemistry major exams at UWA in 1989, I spent three hours staring at a blank page in a state of complete panic. It was traumatic and extremely devastating. I lost my organic chemistry major as a result and now I can’t call myself an organic chemist — only an inorganic chemist. I didn't return to the university for a whole year because I was so traumatised by the event. A year later, I pulled myself together and ended up completing an Honours degree in inorganic chemistry.
My traumatic exam experience motivated me to figure out how to study and it taught me life skills that have allowed me to achieve all my goals and more. Now I'm passionate about helping you to learn the techniques and strategies you can use to excel in your exams, minus the fear and stress.

Of the 35 years since graduating high school, I have studied at undergraduate or postgraduate level for about 15 years, achieving:
• BSc (Hon) in Chemistry (UWA, 1991)
• BSc (High Distinction) in Maths (USQ, 2010)
• BSc (High Distinction) in Stats (USQ, 2010)
• Finished top 3% in UWA physics (1987)
• Partial completion of a BEng in Chemical Engineering (2001)
• Postgraduate research in chemistry (1992) and Math’s (2012).

Why did I become a tutor?
Why did I give up a career in the flagship oil industry?
Because I would have appreciated advice from someone like me when I was in high school. I didn’t know where to get past exams or tests from to practice with or how to prepare for exams. If someone like me was around then to advise me, it would have made the world of difference. My mission is to help students who are willing to work hard and achieve their best. I have the tools and strategies to help you reach the top one percent of students (99 ATAR), and then to climb mount Everest to incredible heights of 99.8 ATAR’s and above.
