I am a qualified and practicing chartered accountant with over 15 years experience tutoring in the Queensland school and university system. I previously ran a business called Blooms Tutors. For 6 years the business ran very successfully employing over 40 tutors throughout Brisbane and Ipswich, and a couple on the Gold and Sunshine coasts.

I personally tutored for over 15 years in 2 countries, Australia and South Africa. The business was eventually sold to a Japanese investor when I moved full time into homeschooling and is no longer in operation.

I have tutored at least 100 students across most grades from primary through to year 12, over 7000 hours of teaching experience. I also have experience tutoring accounting, auditing, business, economics and management at the tertiary level across various states. My background before opening Blooms Tutors was in auditing and I have a Bachelor of Commerce and an Honours degree in Accounting, as well as having worked for a number of years for PricewaterhouseCoopers where I qualified as a chartered accountant.

I love teaching, and especially a one-on-one approach helping students overcome challenging topics and negative beliefs about their ability to learn and understand. My approach is very flexible and I try to fit in with each student’s unique needs, giving them the tools and confidence they need for their subjects. Many of my past students have stayed with me for their full high school term having weekly sessions through to the end of year 12.

All sessions held online (as I currently work remote), country wide.
I hold a current blue card - working with children check in QLD

Experience

I have been providing private tutoring services for over 15 years. I specialise in mathematics, accounting and business studies. I ran a successful tutoring business in Brisbane for 6 years during which time I tutored full time whilst managing a panel of other tutors.

I have worked with a minimum of one student from each grade from year 1 through to university graduate and have homeschooled my three daughters (all from prep), eldest currently in year 9. I am happy and comfortable working with students of any age.
