 Eastern Victoria - Newborough

Spanish Tutor from Argentina (Latrobe Valley)

Eastern Victoria tutor in Spanish

I was born in Argentina. I moved to Australia when I was 14 years old with my family. My qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Spanish) and a Diploma in Education.I have a passion for languages, and have studied romance languages such as French and Portuguese.
I have lots of experience in teaching Spanish to adults (one-on-one), as well as in a group setting. These levels have ranged from beginner to intermmediate and advanced. My teaching approach incorporates an assessment of the student's needs, taking into account their interests and goals to work out a course that suits their specific situation.

I have a flexible approach to teaching. This can vary in order to accommodate the student's learning goals. This means I will apply and change aspects of the course to suit their specific needs. For those interested in travelling to Spanish speaking countries, or wanting to aquire the language for other reasons, my method involves looking at the more practical side of the language: building up relevant and useful vocabulary, teaching the main elements of grammar and developing conversation skills with confidence.
My approach to teaching also involves a recommendation of text and grammar books, (if this is of relevance to them). In every lesson, I recap on what has been learnt and move on to the next language element when the essential information has been covered. I also provide the student with weekly homework, worksheets that contain exercises of the grammar items being taught to be completed in their own time.

Initially, I provide a questionnaire to find out informaton about their future travels in order to work out the most relevant elements of the language. I design a course ranging from 8 to 12 weeks, or longer if necessary, (this would depend on the student availability and interest).
The course incorporates looking at some cultural aspects of the city/country of destination: some local customs (eg. types of food, etc.), some cultural elements (eg. historical places, galleries, museums, etc.), as well as taking into account some relevant regional differences in the language. This strategy ensures they are prepared for their trip and feel confident to communicate with the locals once they arrive to their destination and ensures their stay is as comfortable as possible.
In my lessons, I also provide useful and practical material such as written and listening scripts, and role-plays that use grammar constructions and day to day conversations within relevant contexts and situations which may possibly arise (eg. at the airport, at the supermarket, etc).

I gain a lot of satisfaction teaching adults in particular when my students show continuous improvement, and seeing how their hard work has paid off. If you think this could help you please dont hesitate to contact me, I would love to hear from you.

I am available most days and hours, morning or afternoon classes.I prefer to hold classes in my own home. I would consider traveling to the student's home (if this would be preferred).
The best way for students to contact me is via email or by mobile. My rate is $30 for 45 minutes, $40 for an hour, and $55 for one and a half hours. I am open to doing online classes (If this is more convenient).
