Teaching Experience: HSC Modern Greek (over 30 years plus- most recent 2025 Yr 12 NSW School of Languages)
HSC exam marking (over 10 years)
Years 9 and 10 Modern Greek and HSC students at the Saturday School of Community Languages. (over 30 years experience, most recent 2024).
I also have experience producing materials for two different courses in the Extension Modern Greek Course in NSW.
I have taught the Beginners course at Sydney University from 2013 to 2021.
I also worked as a lecturer & convener of Modern Greek at UNSW for 2 years before I left to continue my PhD in writing. (2022-2023)
I have taught at the NSW School of languages for a number of years and am experienced in the Beginners HSC course and coaching students to sit for those exams. (2024-2025 most recent)
I teach adults Greek online. (over 10 years experience)
I have also worked as a lecturer teaching language teachers at the Sydney Institute of Education, (Sydney University) for a number of years.
I have published a number of books including a Bilingual Modern Greek Method for Beginner students, Year 10 to Adult. I’m only available online as I do not travel to students' homes.
My experience and ability are proven and I am able to help students achieve their best results and help them prepare for their exams. For adults, I offer tailored programs and together with language, I also teach history, culture and music. Specialist language terminology lessons specifically for students of archaeology and medicine at University levels and doctors wishing to learn the Greek language to help their patients also available.

Experience

I have been teaching Modern Greek at high school and University for over 30 years. I have taught from Years 9 and 10 and Beginner to Advanced level for HSC and Year 1 and Year 2 University level students and adults.
I have published my own learning materials and books available at www.hellenictheorem.com.au
I am qualified to teach English, History and Modern Greek.
I also have experience as a researcher at the University level and also at editing texts. These skills are useful in helping my students research and produce excellent assignments and essays.

BA Honours ( Modern Greek)
Current PhD in Creative-Writing Non-Fiction UTS
Published author of Bilingual books and Greek learning method.

Rates

This rate for Years 11 and 12 per hour is $95. Lessons can also be purchased as packages at a discount. Group sessions available at $50 per person per hour.
For adults wishing to learn Greek for fun my rates are $75 per hour or $45 per group session.
