I offer 1-1 sessions tailored to the needs of individual students for both Higher Level and Standard Level IB English. I am passionate about developing the skills necessary for students to flourish in the Diploma Programme, and my philosophy of teaching is aligned to that of the International Baccalaureate. I draw upon my experience as a senior English teacher (13 years) and my work with the IB, as an Assistant Examiner, to guide students in their understanding of assessments, writing and the many ways literature can be viewed and understood. I also enjoy working alongside students to alleviate the pressures of assessments and examinations.

Tutoring in the following areas of the English IB syllabus can be provided:
Paper 1 – Guided Literary Analysis, Paper 2 – Comparative Essay, the Individual Oral, the Higher Level Essay and Extended Essays.

I am also available to tutor students in Years 7-10.
Evening and weekend sessions are available. Online only.

Experience

I am a passionate and experienced English teacher with over 17 years in the education sector. I have taught high school students in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia in both the public and private sectors.
I offer a range of tutoring services including 1-1 sessions for junior students in Years 7-10 and for students completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Years 11 &12. In addition to providing academic guidance and support, my services also include assessment feedback, mentoring and examination preparation.
