InstructEd is specialist online tutoring in VCE English and History, taught only by qualified, experienced teachers. It was founded by Yvonne De Giusti (née Karfakis), an educator with over a decade in the classroom and experience as a textbook and resource writer.
Yvonne built InstructEd after years inside the school system, where she saw both the outstanding work of teachers and the pressure of large classes and stretched resources. Good private tutoring, done properly, complements that work rather than simply repeating it. InstructEd was created to do exactly that: personalised, differentiated teaching in two subjects, taught with real depth, that supports and extends each student's learning and results.

Experience

Over 15 years of tutoring experience, including ten years as a secondary classroom teacher (Years 7 to 12) at one of Melbourne's leading independent schools. I have worked as a textbook and resource writer for Edrolo and as a tutor for the University of Melbourne's Master of Teaching (Secondary) course. My specialism is VCE English and History, and this is the sole focus of InstructEd: senior English and History for Years 10 to 12, taught by qualified, experienced teachers.

Qualifications

Hi, I'm Yvonne, known to most as Yvie, and I'm the founder of InstructEd. I hold a Master of Teaching and have over a decade of experience as an English, Humanities and VCE History teacher. I have also worked as a textbook and resource writer for Edrolo and delivered professional development for fellow History teachers through the History Teachers' Association of Victoria. You could say I have a passion for education. I believe it is one of the most powerful things we have for changing and improving our world.
For years I witnessed the outstanding work of school educators, but also the pressure, large class sizes and underfunding our schools face. That is where InstructEd comes in. I wanted to create a space where private tutoring is done properly, to complement and strengthen school learning rather than simply repeat it. InstructEd is built on personalised, effective teaching that helps students excel both inside the classroom and beyond.
