I am a qualified and practising High School Science teacher. I have taught Year 7-10 Science and Stage 6 Biology, Earth and Environmental Science, Investigating Science for over 15 years. I am an experienced HSC Biology and Earth and Environmental Science marker. Many of my students have achieved a Band 5 or greater in the HSC.

Science is logical and systematic, but also allows students to draw connections between various aspects of the world and see its wonder and potential. I believe that when a student makes links between theory and practice, then they learn, understand and apply their knowledge in a deeper way.

I can offer individual or small group sessions in high school general science, Biology, Earth and Environmental Science, Investigating Science, junior Maths and Geography. These can be in person or online. I can also assist Primary students in these areas in preparation for High School.

In tutoring I revise concepts, and prepare summary and worksheets for students where needed. I will teach new concepts to students to prepare them for classwork, and for senior students, regularly refer to HSC papers to teach question response. Where suitable, I utilise computer based applications and resources to demonstrate scientific concepts visually.

As a qualified and practising Careers Adviser, I am able to assist and guide young people (in particular students in Years 10-12) with subject selection including EVET, seeking and obtaining work experience, and helping them to understand the ATAR, and university/TAFE course selection.

I also have 15 years of experience in the Environmental Management industry, which helps to consolidate scientific research and application into many areas of education and links to careers.

I have tutored students individually and in small group settings from a wide variety of high schools (government, Catholic and independent)

I have many years experience in teaching at High School to students who are developing English language skills, with learning difficulties or gifted and high potential students, and I am an experienced HSC marker of both Biology and Earth and Environmental Science.

I have recently expanded my role into Career Advising and can assist students with post-school planning, including university and TAFE applications for Year 12.
