English can be difficult and is by no means an easy language. As an Australian born native English speaker and lawyer, I tutor both late primary and secondary students in English specialising in HSC English (Standard/Advanced/Extension I and II) and HSC Legal Studies.

Whether it is pronunciation, intonation, writing, creative writing, reflective writing, expository writing, short stories, reports, speeches, essay structure and flow, proofreading or assignment and exam preparation, I tutor with respect to all aspects of the English language. Rest assured for HSC students I am familiar with the majority of texts set for Advanced English and Extension I and II.

For most of my students I generally work with their prescribed text or allocated homework building toward their assessments for the term however it is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I am adaptable and can assist with whatever is required ensuring that the lesson is suited to the goals of each student.

My lesson style is straightforward so that lessons are kept practical and time is maximised. Past exam papers, mock tests, mind maps and key sentences are some of the strategic tools that I utilise with all my HSC students aiming to create that memory jump start which is often vital in an exam situation. By working one on one discussion and brainstorming is personally tailored creating an invaluable approach to problem solving.

I require parents to be involved in the tutoring. Initially I conduct an informal meet and greet so we can have a chat and as a team assess the area where the key focus needs to be. Interval feedback is provided to ensure we are on track.

Bachelors Degree in Communications / Journalism (Distinction Average).
Juris Doctor.

Rates

I travel to you - Inner West and Lower North Shore only.
Home visits or at a mutually convenient location.
The first meet and greet is $75 (30-45 minutes).
$100 per hour (60 minutes) for private tuition with a single student.
No group tuition.
I hold a current WWCC. Details available upon request.
