Specialised, Individualised Tutoring

Sydney tutor in Creative Writing, English, English Literature, Essay Writing, Reading

I provide a wealth of knowledge and passion for English Literature. Having graduated from Abbotsleigh in 2019 with an ATAR of 98.65 I profoundly understand the new syllabus outline and marking guidelines. I am a RADA graduate in writing for theatre and performance. I currently attend Sydney University majoring in English Literature and Politics with an average WAM of 83.

In my free time I love analysing films and creating video essays and poetry. I am currently honing my craft in Adobe Premier Pro! You can check out my youtube channel in the contact section to see how I write creatively, analytically and accessibly. These are the skills I wish to impart upon my students!

Additionally, I am an experienced chess player and have competed internationally.

I structure my lessons through worksheets that target the syllabus and topics that my students are studying at school. I also provide study guides, text notes and analytical essays.

I received a 98.65 ATAR (2019), undertaking 4 unit English, 4 Unit Maths, Ancient History and Drama. My HSC results are as follows:

English ADV: 95
English EXT 1: 90(45)
English EXT 2: 92 (46)
Drama: 98

My approach: I approach all of my tutoring and teaching sessions in alignment with your school's schedule so that you are learning and revising relevant information, texts and tasks. However, what I encourage is for students to go beyond the syllabus and expectations of their classes through prescribing them personalised tasks to challenge their understanding of what is being taught and to promote growth beyond what is being taught at school. This is particularly important during the preliminary and HSC years as it will set you apart from your peers and enable you to develop a personal and sophisticated way of writing, structuring essays, understanding of the syllabus and approaching questions. Half the lesson is usually spent going over school-given tasks, homework and assignments, this is to ensure that the student is well supported and has a sound understanding of what is expected with their school. The second half of the lesson is usually then spent on revising tasks prescribed by me, extending their understanding of the syllabus/texts, re-visiting texts or information, extending their knowledge and understanding of different information and texts, as well as working towards any upcoming assignments or examinations.
