I'm a highly skilled tutor/teacher/trainer and a mature and patient person. I am extremely passionate about learning styles and consider myself to be a dedicated educator and an excellent communicator.

I can help you to improve your workplace conversational English, or if you're a student, with English and Humanities studies, including VCE. I have taught at all levels - Primary to University and I specialise in improving reading and writing skills, especially formal report and creative essay writing, editing and exam preparation.

My lessons are engaging and personalised. I provide workbooks, assign homework tasks and offer online support between sessions.

I work flexible hours, day, evening and weekends. I have a proven track record and great references.

Experience

I have over 25 years experience as a tutor, in private and group sessions and at several
tutoring colleges. Throughout my career I have taught in a range of educational settings, including Primary and Secondary and at the University of Melbourne and various TAFE institutes. I have also managed a Registered Training Organisation and developed a range of training packages.

From 2006-2014 I worked as a consultant for the Department of Education in New York and New Jersey, USA. I coached English and EAL teachers and provided curriculum development advice and support for whole school change. I also mentored PhD students at NYU and previously at Stanford University, California (2003-2005). On returning to Melbourne I have worked independently as an Education Consultant and as professional tutor. I provide face to face and online tutoring in VCE English, EAL Psychology students and provided guidance in essay and thesis writing for University students.

I'm a curriculum developer and I have a thorough working knowledge of AusVELS and
Common Core Standards for English and Social Sciences. As a consultant to Victoria
University I co-wrote several National Accredited Training Packages. I have also tutored undergraduate and PhD students from Monash, Melbourne and Stanford University (USA).

I enjoy finding ways to help students identify their strengths and improve their literacy
skills and general knowledge. I customise programs to suit individual needs and learning styles and my
students notice a marked improvement in just a few sessions.

Rates

$80/hr Primary students, $90/hour High School and VCE students
$100/hour university students.
