Kylie Mort — Holistic Learning Coach & Academic Specialist

I am a highly experienced educator, learning coach, and psychology-trained mentor with more than 22 years supporting students across Australia. My approach blends traditional academic tutoring with holistic learning coaching, allowing me to support not only the subject matter, but the whole learner: their mindset, their executive functioning, their confidence, and their wellbeing.

As an adult with ADHD myself — and the parent of an ADHD teenager — I bring both lived experience and professional training to my work. I specialise in helping students who think differently, feel overwhelmed, struggle with sequencing or organisation, or who need a calm, compassionate expert to guide them academically and emotionally. Many of my students have ADHD, anxiety, learning challenges, trauma backgrounds, school refusal, or extended absence from school, including those recovering from medical treatment.

My qualifications include a Bachelor of Psychological Science, Yoga & Mind–Body Training, and over two decades as a registered teacher and academic mentor. I am also the award-winning author of Little People Big Emotions, a resource widely used by families, schools and clinicians to support emotional development.

I work one-on-one via Zoom in a personalised, flexible, and highly relational “study buddy coaching” style. Sessions integrate academic instruction with mindset building, self-regulation strategies, confidence development, and executive functioning support. Students receive detailed written session reports after each appointment to help them track progress, understand their learning patterns, and build practical strategies they can apply immediately.

I meet each learner exactly where they are, helping them rebuild confidence, develop resilience, and understand their own brain so they can thrive academically and personally.

My coaching is particularly effective for students who:

Sessions are $63, online via Zoom, with no lock-in contracts. Families book only as needed, making it flexible and responsive to the learner’s changing needs.

I hold a Graduate Diploma in Psychological Science, a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching (English & Social Studies), and a Bachelor of Arts (Literature & History). This combination of educational and psychological training allows me to support not only academic skill development, but also the mindset, confidence, executive functioning and study strategies that underpin long-term success.
