I specialize in tutoring Chemistry, Physics, Maths Methods and Specialist Maths. I have many years teaching experience, a very thorough grasp of each of my subject areas and I enjoy teaching them all. Contrary to the current fashion in education, the conceptual understanding of the subject matter is essential. No real progress in learning is possible without it.

My qualifications are BSc (Hons), BA(Hons), MSc, Dip Ed, MRACI, CChem. I have a first class Honours degree in Theoretical Chemistry from Sydney University, a first class Honours degree in Classical Greek from the University of Queensland, a Masters degree by research in Physical Inorganic Chemistry from James Cook University and a Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland.

My experience: I was an Associate Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at James Cook University, a Lecturer in Classical Greek at the University of Queensland and then a Senior high school teacher of Mathematics, Chemistry & Physics. I have also served on the Wide Bay District Review Panel for Chemistry. I have full teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (Registration No. 550096) and I am a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (MRACI) (Member No. 13908) and a Chartered Chemist (CChem). I have published numerous research papers in well respected scientific journals (e.g. Journal of American Chemical Society) in the field of Physical Inorganic Chemistry.

I am married and have four daughters, all of whom I helped in their school years. Two of them obtained an OP1 and the other two obtained an OP3 and OP4. I have tutored many students in the Bundaberg area over the last 15 years, both very gifted students and just the ordinary ones as well.
