Hello VCE Biology students,

Organize your Unit 3 'Review Focus tuts' over the Term 2 holiday period. July 1st - 14th OR try and book weekly tutoring commencing anytime during Term 2 and/or term 3

I have been a passionate VCE Biology teacher for over 32 years. I have taught at four highly ranked independent schools over my career with leadership roles including Head of Science. I am semi-retired, however, still retain my specialist teacher role at a prestigious and top ATAR-ranked school. I have a deep understanding of the 2022-2026 Study Design (VCE Biology 1-4 classes)

Even though the Head Start (Summer Holidays 2023/2024.) tutoring sessions have now finished, I would love to tutor students weekly throughout the school year. I am expanding my tutoring availability times in 2024 so I should be able to cater to student preferred times. Just reach out and contact me via mobile text initially.

Online tutoring means you can get support from the comfort of your own home and never stress about being late for a session. I use a Google Meet link that you can join.

Tutoring is truly rewarding. It is a great opportunity to 'unpack' key knowledge and develop a meaningful understanding.
My approach to tutoring is to make it interesting, get the student to comprehend, analyze, and evaluate key knowledge, allow the student to ask questions, AND encourage students to rehearse processes, outlines, and definitions.

I come resourced with my own tailored review focus questions for each Area of Study, daily practice challenge problems, AND my own lesson notes. Wait there is more....I have notes with exemplar examples of outlines like CRISPR, Trp Operon regulation, AND vocabulary definitions of all the 'buzz' terms

Qualifications

Tertiary level Science Degree, Diploma of Education, employed VCE Biology specialist (32 years), Biology tutoring (20 years)
Attended annual VCE Biology STAV Conferences and Professional Development events at GTAC (Gene Technology Access Centre)

Rates

$80 is based on group tutoring of 3 students from the same school. Normally, students will create their own small school group and then book me as their tutor. Group tutoring is very economical and has worked really well academically with students 'bouncing' off each other's understanding.
One-on-one tuition is perfect for catering to individualized SAC preparation, home learning and asking for help with specific Checkpoint Q's
3 students from the same school - $80 per student/session 1 hour
2 students from the same school- $100 per student/session 1 hour
1 student - $130
