I have a passion for English, in particular for teaching English to those whose first language is not English. I am an experienced VCE English tutor, supporting my students to gain increased understanding of and confidence in the VCE English requirements, including SAC and exam preparation.
Working with students who require special support, building rapport and confidence in learning, as well as supporting the development of skills for the future, is also something that I am experienced in, and find very satisfying.
It is recommended that VCE tutoring begins as early as possible in order to achieve the best results.
As well as my qualifications and experience in teaching English, I am an experienced psychiatric nurse, and these skills can be helpful in supporting my students through what can be a very stressful year.
IELTS is another important area of work and the development of language in people who wish to develop their level of English, whether for academic, career or social reasons is an area of special interest. Similarly, I am able to provide language support for younger students for whom English is a second language, teaching in a way that is enjoyable and is personalised according to their levels and interests.
I believe in early intervention and use a wide variety of evidence-based programmes specifically targetted to meet individual needs, including special needs students. Lessons are student-centered, and student well-being is important to me, as is confidence-building through step-by-step progress.
My teaching is based on the needs of the individual student and teach all levels, from elementary to advanced, from primary school age to adult, including medical, business and academic English.

I offer flexible timing, including during business hours and after hours.
VCE English tutoring may be in individual sessions or small group.
First consultation with students and parents is free.
I am happy to work with students at my home, or online.
