What happens before the first lesson?
Answer
I aim to gain an overview of the student’s needs and what they aim to achieve from tuition. I request a brief outline on the student current unit of work in order to plan a constructive value-added lesson.

What do you generally cover for a first lesson?
Answer
Following a brief overview of what the student wants to achieve for the lesson, we work on the current classroom task(s). At the end of the lesson, I provide a general assessment, including how I believe I can best support the student.

I have an extensive range of teaching resources to support secondary school English subjects. This includes new resources that I create or purchase to reflect the demands and changes to the English subjects annually.

Answer
I draw on my experience as a former scholarship assessor, including a strong understanding of interpretating questions and expectations of scholarship candidates. I don't just teach to the test; I assist student to gain the necessary skills and attain the standard of the best performing students within the cohort.
