Over the past 18 years I have specialised in both IELTS Writing and IELTS Speaking and I have developed comprehensive lesson materials for my students that break down exactly what examiners are looking for in both the IELTS Writing and Speaking tests.

In teaching IELTS Writing and Speaking for so long, one thing has become clear to me time and time again: students improve the fastest when they understand how their work is actually being marked by the examiner.

When we start working together, I'll analyse your writing or speaking in detail and tell you honestly what's keeping you from reaching the band score you need. From there, I'll tailor my lessons to your specific situation and needs to help you achieve success in the test. You will learn how to think like an examiner and analyse your writing or speaking the way an examiner does.

Within each 60 minute lesson with me, you will steadily work through the areas that are holding you back in a systematic and easy-to-follow way. Most of my students consistently tell me that after just 8 to 10 lessons, they are able to spot their own errors, understand why these mistakes lowered their score and fix them confidently.

Experience

With over 18 years of experience in English language teaching, I have worked across some of Australia's most respected institutions, including the Centre for English Teaching at the University of Sydney and the UNSW Institute of Languages. My background spans classroom teaching, curriculum development, test writing, teacher training, and coordination, with a particular focus on IELTS, Academic Writing, Business English, PTE, and EAP.

I have spent years studying exactly how IELTS tests are designed and marked, and I bring that deep understanding of the assessment process directly into every lesson I teach.
