Melbourne tutor in Chemistry, General Science, Study Skills

I am an experienced and currently practicing teacher, specialising in and having a passion for Chemistry. Many students find Chemistry particularly challenging, reporting it to be their most difficult subject throughout Year 11 and 12 - for most, this is simply due to a lack of individual attention. Having taught hundreds of students in Science and Chemistry from year 7 to 12, I am well versed in explaining the fundamental principles of Chemistry from different perspectives - one of them will click!

As a full-time educator in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB), I take only a small number of independent students for tutoring to ensure adequate time and effort is available for each. I do not believe in running group classes as I want to be able to provide my full attention to the individual students who seek my assistance, as such I only offer individual one-on-one sessions.

While tutoring and individual support is my primary focus, feel free to discuss with me options for creating curated resources for your individual students! As part of my program, I offer individualised resources, study planners and practice examinations/worksheets targeted at the needs of each student.

Lesson Structure
Though I am happy to structure lessons as I feel appropriate on a student by student basis, I am also happy to run sessions of the desired format. These can be workshop-style Q/A, lecture-style on a particular study-design concept, an exam walkthrough, or any combination. This will be discussed with each new student joining my program prior to their first session.

Availability
I currently have only a few places open for new students going into the 2026 academic year and am happy to be flexible to accommodate most schedules.

Rates (all are for individual 1-on-1 sessions)
INCLUSIONS: I 'whiteboard' digitally during sessions using Microsoft OneNote and as such, all written questions, notes and explanations are available to students after our sessions. Similarly, any worksheets, questions or practice tasks provided during sessions are covered by the session free. Students may request additional assessment or resources and will only be charged if a resource is needed to be written from scratch.

Please note that I offer a free 15-30 minute session to discuss the needs of the student before formally commencing tutoring. It is vital that a student and their tutor 'gel' - and I want to ensure this is the case for both parties!

- Year 7-10 Science Tutoring: $90/Hour

- Year 11 Unit 1-2 Chemistry Tutoring: $100/Hour
+ Includes tailored and targeted worksheets each session, including a practice test at the conclusion of each Area of Study. Practice examination at the end of unit available on request.

- Year 12 Unit 3-4 Chemistry tutoring: $110/Hour
+ Includes tailored and targeted worksheets each session, including a practice test at the conclusion of each Area of Study. Practice examination at the end of unit available on request.
