Experienced Mech Eng grad from Unimelb (Engineering, Maths, Physics)
Melbourne tutor in Algebra, Biology, Calculus, Engineering, Further Maths, Geometry, Maths, Maths Methods, Maths Specialist, Physics, Statistics
Hi there! My name is Peter and I'm a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Melbourne (graduated with a WAM of 82). I have extensive knowledge in the field of mathematics (all levels/units), physics (all levels/units), and most mechanical/mechatronics engineering subjects (control systems, engineering maths, numerical methods, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics etc)
If you're looking for someone who understands the struggles & stresses of school/uni and require that extra push to get you through your studies in 2025, then I believe I can help you. My main focus lies on identifying where any weakness may be, addressing them and then working together to understand whatever topic/concept is causing you difficulties. Good grades are great, but having a solid understanding of the topics you're tackling is needed to be able to then take on those harder questions that may pop up in VCE/Uni exams. I tutor as I love teaching, and it helps keep a lot of these concepts fresh in my mind, which helps me in my day-to-day work.
A typical lesson (1hr) would involve the following:
1. Discuss/review difficulties faced since last lesson (ideally, you'd email me a day before the lesson with this info so I can prepare notes in advance).
2. Explanation of concepts with the use of visual aids/diagrams/slides.
3. Guided practice where we work on questions together.
4. Independent practice where i observe your methodology/approach and provide feedback (either in real-time or after the question is done).
After *every* lesson, I provide you with a couple of pages of information (a cheat sheet of sorts) on the topics discussed on the day. At the end of the semester, the notes will form a complete book that you will be able to refer to if you ever need to. These notes are always unique to each student, and emphasis is placed on the topics/questions/concepts that you struggle with.
A quick overview of myself:
- I lead the R&D department (Engineering) at a company focused on air quality monitoring systems
- Hold a Master of Mechanical Engineering + Bachelor of Science (Civil systems) from the University of Melbourne - Founder of the University of Melbourne's Rocketry team (ARES).
- Have been tutoring for 5+ years, and have conducted a 14-week rocketry workshop at Haileybury City.
PS. I also hold a Working With Children Check (Employee) as part of my work with Haileybury (city campus).
Cheers for reading through my profile - let me know if you have any questions at all!

Experience
I have a cumulative experience of around 5 years tutoring Year 8 to Year 12 students in maths (all levels), physics (all levels) and biology (all levels). I have been also tutoring university students for about 2 years now.
Additionally, in 2018, I was part of Haileybury City's afterschool program where I conducted workshops on (basic) rocket physics for a class of around 25 kids (Year 4 to Year 8). I have also conducted workshops at a tertiary level (2018 - 2022), with workshops ranging from rocketry to manufacturing drones.
