I am an experienced Queensland-registered Senior Teacher specialising in Senior Mathematics, including Year 11 and 12 Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, the Year 11 and 12 IB curriculum, Year 10 Extension, and Year 10 Specialist Mathematics.

Throughout my career, I have seen many students who do not enjoy learning mathematics. I believe this often stems from not having the opportunity to build a strong foundation in the subject. Due to limited time and the diverse needs within a classroom, teachers are not always able to provide every student with the individual support they require. As the mathematical content becomes more complex over the years, students without this solid base can find it increasingly difficult to keep up, leading to frustration and loss of interest.

I believe mathematics is a set of interconnected concepts that students must first understand before they can confidently apply them. I quickly identify each student’s learning style and provide clear, natural guidance tailored to their needs. My teaching approach centres on locating gaps in a student’s understanding and working closely with them until they feel confident in their foundational knowledge. With a strong base, students are able to progress to more advanced topics with genuine confidence.

I tailor my instruction to each learner because I understand that every student learns differently. This personalised approach helps students uncover their strengths and achieve results they may not have thought possible. Students receive support with their school homework, and I also provide additional learning materials and targeted practice resources based on their progress. This helps them reach their full potential and grow at their best.

For the past four years, I have been actively involved with QCAA as a confirmer and endorser for Year 12 Specialist Mathematics assessment instruments and internal exams. I also work as an external marker and external examination writer for QCAA in both Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods.

I am available from 4pm - 8pm, Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sundays (on request).

I have been teaching senior Mathematics (Mathematical methods, Specialist Maths for year 11 and 12, IB HL and SL Mathematics and Extension mathematics for year 9 & 10 including Year10 Specialist Maths) for more than 10 years.

Qualifications

Post graduate Diploma in Education from QUT, Major in Senior Mathematics.
Bachelor and Masters Degree

Rates

$80 per hour, Minimum of 2 hours per week.
Discounts are available for group sessions.
$70 per hour, if the lessons are booked for the whole term of 10 weeks (Minimum of 2 hours per week).

Note: If booked for the whole term of 10 weeks, it is expected to pay for 10 weeks, where the student may miss a few lessons due to some of their commitments to other activities. However, rescheduling the lesson is possible if the rescheduled timing suits the teacher and student within the same week.
