Hello! I'm Rachael and I am a final year Medicine student at The University of Sydney. Additionally, I have a Bachelor of Pre-medicine, Science and Health with a major in Molecular Medicine from the University of Wollongong.

I am particularly passionate about human biology and medicinal chemistry, and am happy to help students who need a bit of assistance in basic sciences, chemistry, biology and anatomy (I understand how tricky these subjects can be)! If interested, I am also happy to provide advice on all things medicine-related, such as GAMSAT and applications.

I provide private tutoring services for primary, secondary and tertiary students, occurring once or twice a week. I emphasise flexibility - we will select a time that suits both of us and this can be adjusted if/when needed (such as around exams). I am also happy to be contacted outside of these tutoring times via phone if the student requires (urgent) help with a question or two. Tutoring can be conducted online or students can travel to me.

Chemistry and biology are fascinating fields with much more to discover. Unfortunately, the amazing potential of these areas is often lost in the drudgery of school-based teaching. I like to approach tutoring these in these subjects by emphasising WHY certain aspects are taught, and utilising a variety of means to convey the (often confusingly taught) concepts. My tutoring lessons are student-driven, focussing on the avenues the student needs to focus on and then working with the student through example questions (as practice really makes perfect).

I have been tutoring for multiple years now and absolutely love it! I enjoy getting to talk to a range of different people and helping them to get grades that reflect their own dedication and passion to the best (though often difficult) fields of science.

Qualifications

I am currently in my 2nd year of Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney.

In 2020 I completed a Bachelor of Pre-medicine, Science and Health from the University of Wollongong, with a major in Molecular medicine.

I thus have advanced knowledge of human biology and medicinal chemistry.
